Fitness for Duty Evaluations (FFDE)
A Fitness for Duty Evaluation (FFDE) helps determine if an employee is physically, emotionally, and/or mentally able to safely perform their job duties. These evaluations are tailored to the specific role and workplace context—not just general health.

Who Qualifies for SIBTF?
You may be eligible if:
- You had a pre-existing permanent partial disability.
- You sustained a new work-related injury that caused additional permanent disability.
- The combined disabilities equal 70% or more of total permanent disability.
Additional conditions include:
- The previous and new disabilities affect opposite limbs (e.g., right leg and left leg) and the new injury rates at least 5%, or
- The new injury alone rates at least 35% permanent disability.
SIBTF benefits are paid in addition to workers’ compensation for the subsequent injury alone.
